Denise Rushing (Earth Lover) is a #1 best-selling author, speaker and renewable energy advocate.

As founder of New Story Center, she is dedicated to re-enchanting Planet Earth. New Story Center helps social entrepreneurs and innovators

share their story with the world and change the world with their story.

Even at a young age, as she transplanted pumpkin seedlings into her Grandfather’s garden, collected rocks, and observed tree frogs in the woods behind her home, Denise Rushing found the planet's ecosystems enchanting. She devoted her early career to environmental stewardship through science and technology--earning a degree in environmental engineering from Stanford University and furthering clean technology through her pioneering work in the energy industry including the launch of award winning energy efficiency and technology initiatives adopted by utilities around the world.

Business success notwithstanding, she recognized that humanity’s relationship with Earth’s living systems requires a deeper response. After earning her Masters Degree in Culture and Spirituality, she co-founded Rockhaven Ecospiritual Center, where she developed an ecologically-inspired approach to transforming human systems that she later documented in her bestselling book: Tending the Soul's Garden: Permaculture as a Way Forward in Difficult Times.

In 2006, she was elected to public office in Lake County and served two terms, where she was best known for her environmental advocacy and community revitalization efforts. In this role she was named Women of the Year in the third Congressional District and led her county to two State environmental leadership awards for her work, which included spearheading two of the largest public solar energy installations in California.

Denise is a clear voice for renewing, re-imagining and re-enchanting humanity's relationship with our planet home. She often speaks to groups, bringing audiences to a new awareness of their own power to make a difference. Today, from Dancing TreePeople Farm, she directs the New Story Center--dedicated to changing humanity's world view to one that is just and sustainable.

Denise is a mentor. It doesn't matter what the area, she has a sense of what needs to be done, what has to happen and when to make it so. She is at the top of my list of people that I respect and admire, and has been so instrumental in my successes the last 18 months, that I could not really take credit for what has actually happened.
Denise is an intelligent, clear-minded and insightful person, who knows how to view the world from a lot of angles, as well as making sure that the people around her are enabled to make the decisions and do the things that they need to do in order to help the entire team succeed.
    I recommend Denise without reservation.

Denise brings a magnificent balance of heart, head and soul to any project. Her passion for sustainable business models and practices combined with her energy (and high capability) for start-ups have enabled a number of programs I have been either directly or indirectly associated with get up and running successfully. Her high emotional intelligence makes her easy to work with effectively and pleasurably, regardless of whether she is serving as team leader or team member.

I consider it a great privilege to count Denise as a favorite business colleague and dear friend.
